Swimming courses

The swim path follows a natural progression from water confidence to more advanced skills. Each level presents prerequisites and the main goals of the course.

Whale

Level 1 – water confidence

Whale

Prerequisites: No prior experience required.

  • Build confidence in the water with the instructor.
  • Practice floating and simple movements.
  • Learn to dive and retrieve objects in shallow water.
Turtle

Level 2 – basic movement

Prerequisites: Comfortable in the water and used to putting the head under.

  • Develop floating on front and back.
  • Work on glide and forward movement.
  • Practice coordination through play and simple drills.
Penguin

Level 3 – technique and rhythm

Prerequisites: Can float and move independently in the water.

  • Train breathing, leg action and arm movements.
  • Introduce backstroke and freestyle in simple form.
  • Build endurance through short sets.
Seal Pup

Level 4 – more confident swimmer

Prerequisites: Handles basic freestyle and backstroke exercises.

  • Improve body position and balance.
  • Work on turns and better control.
  • Swim longer distances with solid technique.

Level 5 – advanced basics

  • Establish rhythm and breathing across full lengths.

Level 6 – strength and endurance

  • Increase control, speed and endurance.
  • Work more deliberately on technical details.
  • Become more confident with starts and turns.
Dolphin

Level 7 – pre-competition

  • Refine technique in the main strokes.
  • Work on pace, turns and structure.
  • Create a strong base for further progression.
Shark

Level 8 – advanced

Prerequisites: A very confident swimmer with solid technical skills.

  • Maintain technique under higher load.
  • Train in a more performance-oriented way.
  • Support the move into competition and training groups.
